‘Great Statesman’: Obama will have something to prove here in Israel

div

That’s a big sell these days, that Obama is a ‘Great Statesman’

Other than the fact that he mostly met his 1st foreign leaders 3 months ago this summer on his big world tour, this like most everything else about Obama is mostly fantasy spun up by his adoring legions. Personally Obama reminds me more of the Teflon Don, you know the gangster in the suit employing Chicago style dirt to achieve his aims while the common folk sing his eternal praise.

Willingness to meet the World’s worst regimes for coffee & tea does not a great statesman make incidentally, but that’s not my concern at the moment. A greater concern are the statements made by Obama & Biden regarding Israeli politics previously, specifically Obama’s denigration of the Likud, historically one of Israel two leading parties and a current favorite to sweep into power in our upcoming elections..

The left in Israel is already trying to make hay

Israel cannot elect Likud chairman Binyamin Netanyahu prime minister after the United States voted for president-elect Barack Obama, because of the differences in their views on the Middle East conflict and economic issues, Labor and Kadima MKs charged Wednesday in the wake of Obama’s victory. [...]

There’s more there, including the sad & pitiful statements so typical of our left wing of late, who have tried everything under the sun to secure their own asses and seats in a manner not befitting statesmen of any stripe. Bush was of the right, yet he dealt fairly and with respect with our center left governments as well as our center right wing governments. He respected Israel’s right to choose & define its own destiny in this regard.

We don’t need no thought control..

Will Obama step forward, in contrast to his previous statements before he became a ‘great statesman’, and state that Israel has both the right & the responsibility to choose its own destiny and elect its own leaders in democracy? Or will he play into the hands of Israel’s left and his own convenience, by unduly influencing Israel’s internal politics and subtly intimidating Israel’s electorate, as our own left is already doing in order to create the great socialist order?

Before Syria, Iran, the Palestinians and all manner of dangerous foreign policy plays available to him, Obama will have an opportunity to first show how much he respects the State of Israel and her vibrant democracy, specifically by repudiating the kind of self serving schlock served up above by our own politicians and stating that whatever Israel chooses, the choice will be respected & welcomed by the new US administration once he takes office. He met with Bibi previously, that’s a positive start though the meeting reportedly was cool.

Netanyahu and Israel’s own right wing have so far been gracious in regard to Obama’s victory. We will be at the height of election fever specifically around Obama’s inauguration, he will have ample opportunity to shows us his statesman ways in this regard..

Full Disclosure: Anti Bias Polling Bill To Become Law (Updated)

div

In an effort to quell what has become evident media bias & undue influence on the public, a bill designed to limit media influence before primary voting has become law.

This may seem somewhat controversial, but in light of the cycle of events in recent elections and the polling which is routinely absurdly off base here, something needed to be done. Is this a solution? Perhaps not, but it does constitute a sharp slap & message to both pollsters & media in Israel who were wholly unapologetic for their bias recently, in what was clearly an attempt to influence elections.

Via YNET:

The Knesset on Wednesday approved a bill prohibiting the publication of polls during the four days prior to any primary election. The bill constitutes a fine of NIS 67,300 (about $17,700).

The bill also states that polls that are published will be obligated to include certain details such as number of people polled, their background, and information regarding the method used to gather the data.

The proposal was initiated by Knesset Members Ophir Pines-Paz (Labor), Tzachi Hangebi (Kadima), Gideon Sa’ar (Likud) and Yuli Edelstein (Likud). It was submitted a few months ago, and legislative procedure was spurred after Kadima Chairwoman Tzipi Livni’s victory over her opponent, Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz.

The polls on the Kadima primaries showed a landslide victory for Livni, but on election eve she won by just a small margin. [...]

One notes that major players in all major parties were in favor & proposal, because the situation has become totally untenable to the point of openly influencing & manipulating Israeli Democracy by paid flacks in Israeli media, which has become like its US counterpart a sad, ill respected partisan joke. Israel is a small country with a heavy heavy media presence, this causes much more influence than larger markets may be accustomed to.

Subtle warning?

I would consider this a warning a shot, as it applies to primary votes not general elections. A free society depends on a free press, this is a signal in my belief to the media that it is time to start acting more responsibly, and to let the people not the agenda decide elections. The media sham that took place in the Kadima primary was the most shameful display in recent Israeli election history, the election of Livni was manipulated and everyone including Kadima itself knows it. Disclosure clauses in the bill would indicate a well warranted lack of trust in the media & polling, and puts the pollsters on notice..

Update: Israel Channel 2 to cease reporting primary polling entirely

Globes: Sources inform ”Globes” that Channel 2 News CEO Avi Weiss has decided that the company will no longer report primaries polls. He cited a professional recommendation by several polling and research firms because of polling inaccuracies. Until now, Channel 2 News and other news stations and media published primaries poll data, including polls in the Kadima party primaries mid-September, which were won by Minister of Foreign Affairs Tzipi Livni. The decision will apply to primaries held by any party. [...]

We never do anything half way in Israel, it’s part of our charm.. Channel 10 is now under the spotlight, the Public broadcaster Channel 1 also released polling data on Primary night but waited until polls closed, an improvement but they still called the election in error based ENTIRELY on exit polling like other media outlets! Can you imagine!? Calling the elections on Exit Polls without counting votes, in some cases before polls even closed!? Total insanity. Incidentally, major print media are affiliated with the TV media stations and share / initiate polling data jointly.

Crucial? American Israeli Vote May Hold Keys to Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania

div

40,000+ Strong - Half of them hail from battleground states.

Votefromisrael.org

According to the get out the vote non partisan ‘Vote From Israel’, if the race is tight in key swing states the Americans living in Israel & registered to vote could tip the balance (JPOST)

[...] “If the election is close, as it was in the past two [presidential] elections, then the deciding votes could be coming from Israel,” he said. According to the organization, Israel has the third-largest group of American voters abroad, behind Canada and Britain.

While the largest number of registered US voters in Israel come from New York or New Jersey, two states heavily in the Democratic camp according to polls, the next two states are the key battlegrounds of Ohio and Florida. Several thousand votes will likely be going to those swing states from Israel.

Furthermore, the significance of the votes from Israel could be magnified because they will come well before the November 4 election. Their choices, to be reported next week in an Israel-based exit poll commissioned by Vote From Israel, could influence American Jews in the United States, believes Greenspan. [...]

Many of these Israeli American good souls are devout, a great many of them in fact. If we look at the block voting from Israel from a purely Jewish perspective in comparison to American Jewish voters with no Israeli ties, polling so far would show that this could be a big chunk of change for McCain in key states.

Data so far from America points to Orthodox Jewish Americans overwhelmingly supporting John McCain for President, in stark contrast to more secular & Liberal Jewish voters who favor not so much Obama as posted yesterday, but the Democratic party itself. The polling numbers also say that McCain pulls heavily in the demographics most cognizant of Israel as an important foreign policy issue, again this issue in polling has shown overwhelming resonance with Orthodox voters for whom a strong Israel, with the Star of David above Jerusalem is non-negotiable.

If we disregard the USA data for a moment and look only at Israeli Americans with votes, I’d surmise the picture for McCain is even stronger coming out of Israel. Poll after poll in Israel of Israelis show heavy leans towards McCain. It is the worst kept secret in Israel that the Military elite which comprises a huge power base here, and the political & government strata also overwhelmingly favor what is being called ‘more of the same’ - Meaning, friendly GOP which under Bush has been a valued friend.

Obama Biden & Iran

Recent sensational statements by Biden about Obama have raised red flags, the notion that Obama will be ‘quickly tested’ according to Biden by enemies of America, and that Obama’s response will go against the grain of American public opinion, thus requiring the ‘far left to explain to the rest of America they are in the right’ immediately conjures up images of Obama leaving Israel flapping in the wind in the face of Iranian nuclear aggression. Both these links above give somewhat divergent interpretations of Biden’s remarks, but I disagree with Allahpundit on this one.

These statements reinforce the worst fears about Obama here in Israel, where few are prepared to go quietly into the wind in the face of a nuclear armed Islamic fundamentalist state that calls for genocidal destruction of Israel. We are wary of Obama here and with good reason.

Get Out the Vote

Israeli American voters here will be by default uber security conscious for obvious reasons, issues like Missile Defense funding, US sponsored peace negotiations, sanctions on Iran & Syria, the isolation & destruction of terrorist organizations etc, are pillars here in Israel. Many Israelis polled refuse to answer whom they prefer openly leaving large undecided blocks, that mirrors American Jewish data stateside as well. There may be of thousands of McCain votes pouring into crucial Ohio, Florida, and linchpin Pennsylvania - Special delivery from the Holy Land.

“Vote From Israel” will hold events in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv on October 26th and 28th, in which registered voters can drop off their ballots and, if they have yet to receive ballots from their state or country, submit a federal ballot provided by the organization.

I am partisan, If you are an American living in Israel, this election may be crucial to both countries in a manner not seen for 60 years. Please register & Vote!

The 2000 U.S. Presidential Election was decided on 537 votes. Your vote can make the difference. Welcome to Votefromisrael.org, where we strive to make it easy for 250,000 US citizens living in Israel to vote in the American elections.

Mrs Clean: Livni goes back on her word; Looks to form Arab based leftist Government coalition (Update II)

div

Unelected ‘leader’ needs to face the music, er.. electorate

Now into the 2 week extension for coalition building after having burned up the normal month long allocation with no result, the lady elected by less than 1% of the nation’s vote is getting desperate.

Musical Chairs..

The EmperorFirst she claimed she was unprepared to serve under Olmert who no longer had a mandate, yet she never resigned. Then she let it be known if she was not chosen the new Kadima head, she was leaving the party. Then she claimed she wanted to lead a center based government under her leadership based on Olmert’s coalition, despite being unelected. Later she claimed she was prepared to call elections, yet weeks later applied for coalition extensions instead.

Getting dizzy yet?

Then she swung radically left and invited Meretz to join. Afterwards she claimed what she really wanted was a national emergency government with the Likud because that was the ‘responsible’ thing to do. Later she stated it was not Meretz but UTJ & Shas who were her obvious natural partners, before of course telling Labor leader Barak he was the ’supreme’ deputy Prime Minister under her little junta.

Now, after offering up billions of shekels to buy the leadership seat of Israel only to be as of yet spurned, she’s prepared to form an absurd narrow government of 60 MKs based on the radical left Meretz platform and requiring Arab party MKs to keep her afloat.. There’s only one thing missing from this little dictatorship she is looking to form, a mandate and some actual votes.

Power Trip

Not only has Mrs. Clean now waffled on every statement she has ever made, now she’s selling out the entire Kadima center party concept to feed her unabashed unelected ambitions wholesale, putting the power center in the hands of the radical left and traditional anti Zionist Israel haters. Shas, Kadima members themselves, the Pensioners, pretty much everyone save Livni thinks this is somewhat insane. Not only that but it breaks the only deal she managed to sign with Labor, where she pledged to build a solid 2 year proof government or go to elections.

As six Kadima MKs, headed by Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz, said they would not support a narrow government if one were brought to the Knesset for approval next week, Kadima leader and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni threatened Wednesday to hold general elections. [...]

Livni told Mofaz that she preferred a wide government, but that if there were parties - such as Shas and UTJ - that chose not to join a government under her leadership, she would consider forming a narrow one. Livni told Mofaz that all options were still valid, including going to general elections.

Mofaz told Livni that he would like to help form a wide government. Mofaz has gathered five other Kadima MKs who support his position that a narrow government with Labor and Meretz would be too left-wing and would therefore be subject to political extortion and concessions in negotiations with the Palestinians, and later on with the Syrians [...]

A 60 seat skin of your teeth anti Zionist coalition is not what you’d call a solid governing body able to last 2 weeks let alone 2 years in Israel’s political system. Nor would it have anything even resembling a shred of mandate with HUGE issues looming large for Israel including existential threats, unrevealed peace plans, etc. Less than a week later she has already balked on her commitments to Barak, if this is the clean Leader Livni it bodes for disaster.

It seems there is no red line Livni isn’t willing to cross in her quest. Isn’t it time we got real elected leadership, a real mandate by vote not some shady word breaking back room deals? The notion that this woman who received less than 45% of her own party’s vote, less than 25,000 votes in ALL of Israel can possibly be mandated to do anything save tie her own shoes is a real mockery. Stop threatening us endlessly that you will call elections Livni, and call the elections. Please sh*t or get off the pot, we need leadership in this country and we need it now.

At least one thing has become crystal clear and undeniable to all, Livni is a leftist. Light years away from the tough right wing ‘Ariel Sharon heir’ she claimed to be. It seems Mrs. Clean hasn’t been all that honest with us, feel free to choose when and where for yourself as it is a multiple choice question with numerous right answers.

UPDATE: Power Queen plays ‘Who wants to be a billionaire?’

‘Mrs. Clean’ offers Shas 1 Billion Shekels to secure her govt.. First it was 400 million, then 800 million, now a full Billion in 24 hours and the day is not over yet.. Add this to the 1.5 billion promised to Labor, and hundreds million more for Meretz, Pensioners and anyone else who can dig into the Livni leadership trough.. Global Recession? Fiscal conservative, no amount of taxpayer dollars is too much it seems to burn, for what? Did I get a vote to spend billions on this sham, no.. Did you?

UPDATE II: Now it’s back to elections if no coalition deal is done by Sunday
So this would be the hardball I take it? Frankly I injured my neck in whiplash trying to keep track of these machinations all over the map. The Pensioners have pulled out of talks entirely apparently today, because they now also want a few hundred million to a billion sheks and Livni has stated she doesn’t want to act ‘irresponsibly’..

“The moment of reckoning has arrived,” Livni said at a Kadima faction meeting, Wednesday. “Decisions need to be made by Sunday and then we will know whether there will be a coalition or elections. Negotiations have not been exhausted to their fullest, but time is not on our side,” she added.

The Kadima leader insisted that she would not agree to break the budget and that she would not restore child welfare payments to their former levels. In the closed session, the Kadima leader said she preferred a government that was as broad as possible, but admitted that it was not yet clear if she would even get a 61-MK majority, Israel Radio reported. [...]

According to her enamored media, Kadima & Livni herself, she should be all set for a 20% electoral landslide crushing the Likud, so why the reticence to go to the electorate? Might it have something to do with the fact that in reality she is going to get shellacked?

Personally, I maintained she would have difficulty beating Mofaz, that’s how it rolled. I also made my call she would not be able to build a coalition which was pretty ballsy seeing as one already existed - I’m sticking to my guns.. We’ll see what goes on from now till Sunday. If she opts for this 61 Meretz Arab MK coalition I will openly revolt like the Hashmoneans against the Seleucids.

Times Up: Kadima needs to request 2 week coalition extension

div

Slow going

Livni’s associates are blaming holidays for delays, but wherever the blame lies the 1 month coalition constructing period allocated by law expires today. Having been elected by 400 some votes in the Kadima primary, Livni was supposed to have put together her ruling coalition by this date and applied formally to institute her government.

Alas, so far only Labor has agreed in talks formally to participate, and there are problems internally within Labor over the agreement. I blasted Barak last week over what I perceive as profound weakness and prominent members of the party agree, which will pose a small challenge in ratification. Kadima & Shas meanwhile are in talks to come to terms over billions more shekels, upon which the coalition talks still hinge.

Livni is a big spender

The agreements so far hammered out by Kadima with Labor are estimated to cost the state in excess of 1.5 billion new shekels worth of unallocated spending with a cool billion or two more still coming via Shas. It has been an expensive few weeks, now Livni will apply for her last 2 weeks allowed by extension in order to try and spend more to secure her un-elected government.

Some hints as to the direction of Livni’s possible government are already manifesting, while the Palestinian, Lebanese, Syrian & Iranian tracks are bouncing all over the map with varying parties trying to secure their interests in the chaos. On the question of Lebanon & Hezbullah tying in Syria the word from Livni so far is:

  • Capitulation on the UN resolutions she herself negotiated.
  • Capitulation on borders already affirmed by the UN as legitimate
  • Capitulation by Israel regarding security overflights..

All in return for what Livni’s associates are calling a non-aggression pact, which will prove to be worthless clearly as it will not be recognized by Hezbullah who now control south Lebanon & beyond.

In other words, Livni’s government will be vying with Olmert’s previous government for the honors of ’worst leadership period in the history of the State of Israel’ and she hasn’t even cemented her coalition yet.

Solidarity with Israel: Thousands of Christians march in Jerusalem (Updated)

div

Evangelicals and participants from 100 countries

In a symbolic gesture and show of support, we had a heck of a festive march in the streets of the holy city to honor the Sukkot holiday and show solidarity with Israel..

Via the AP.
JERUSALEM - Thousands of Christians from around the world, waving blue and white Israeli flags, marched Wednesday in a colorful holiday parade in Jerusalem to commemorate a Jewish holiday and show their support for Israel. The annual parade to mark the week-long holiday of Sukkot, or Feast of the Tabernacles, was the latest display of the growing alliance between evangelical Christians and the Jewish state.

The International Christian Embassy of Jerusalem, a global organization that promotes ties between Israel and the world’s Christian communities, sponsored the event in which 3,000 people from nearly 100 countries participated.

Christian Zionists are among the staunchest supporters of Israel, providing generous financial help and political backing. But some dovish Israelis are uncomfortable with the warm ties with evangelists because of their support for West Bank Jewish settlements and criticism of peace efforts with the Palestinians. [...]

Pilgrims from Brazil were among the most enthusiastic marchers, carrying drums and dancing. “We love you, Israel!” they cheered, and Israelis lining the street shouted back “Shalom!” [...]

Here are some AP & Reuters photos of the event, awesome! Estimates are higher than reported here, I’ve read that the numbers got up to 7000+, but the article above only mentions international participants. Lot of Israelis came too! Here on the frontline of the Jihad, we need your support, we love your support. Thank You!

Mad Socialists: Brit leader advocates US blowing Israeli planes out of the sky to defend Iran

div

Reminding me why I am a conservative..

David Owen, former foreign Secretary of Britain in the late 70’s and then leader of the socialist democrats in the UK goes full on Jimmy Carter in this absurd piece of opinion in order to buttress his frankly detached from reality views, maybe he is channeling Barack Obama? I hear that is popular these days.

Not only does he advocate near total surrender to Iran’s every whim, but in a cruel twist of Irony he is not opposed to force as most leftists usually are. He supports the use of force indeed, just not against Iran.. Instead he advocates the President of the United States announce publicly that the US will defend air corridors to Iran and engage militarily with its chief ally Israel! Yes, you read that correctly - Shoot down Israeli fighter jets on any mission to Iran.

[...] Bush’s legacy would be best served by taking dramatic diplomatic action to prevent a war with Iran. He should publicly warn Israel that the United States will use its air power to prevent it bombing Iran, while announcing that he is sending Rice to Tehran to start negotiating a grand bargain whereby all sanctions would be lifted if Iran forgoes the nuclear weapons option. [...]

Parallel Universe

I guess the left really does live in a mirror universe where up is down & black is white. In Owen’s world Iran & the US are the allies, and Israel is the pariah nation. America should not threaten force on Iran, but it is justified in doing so against its ally Israel. In Owen’s world Iran is eager to deal with everyone, its is the lack of leadership by President Bush which is preventing peace on earth & love toward all.

Thankfully Iran has announced its own pre-conditions to the USA before any negotiations can take place and they coincidentally fall right in line with Owen’s worldview. Iran is calling for the total withdrawal of all US military forces from the entire Middle East, and the end of US support for Israel as its pre-conditions..

Hmm, Owen you are a genius! Maybe on the way out of the Middle East in compliance with Iran’s demands for a ‘grand-bargain’, America could take it a step further and simply attack / destroy all of Israel while the Supercarriers are sailing by, thus filling the entire Iranian condition slate in one go. I’m sure the USS Reagan, the Nimitz, The USS H.W Bush, the Eisenhower, etc and all the great leaders these marvelous powerhouse ships are named after would highly approve..

Amazingly enough, I couldn’t find any ships named after another ‘great’ leader - Neville Chamberlain, I wonder why that is?

Powerless: Labor Party leader Ehud Barak has become fat & weak

div

Once mighty Labor humbled by two sad leaders in a row

The coalition talks to form a new government in Israel have been dragging for 25 days now, this week is supposed to be the last one available to Kadima to form a new government, barring any extraneous extensions (which Livni is already famous for).

For 48 hours now marathon night time talks have been held between Labor & Kadima to try and form their deal. For Livni, so far so unimpressive. She has secured only Meretz the radical left wing party, to her coalition as of yet. But an important for Livni Labor collapse is coming according to JPOST

[...] “Tonight’s the night,” Hanegbi had told The Jerusalem Post on Sunday. “If there is no agreement tonight, there won’t be a deal at all.” Hanegbi said it was possible that Livni and Barak would meet early Monday morning to finalize the agreement

According to a draft proposal submitted by Kadima to Labor on Sunday, Barak will not receive any of what he demanded when the coalition-building process began three weeks ago.

Barak will not receive nearly equal footing with Livni at the head of the government, he won’t head Israel’s negotiating team with Syria, Justice Minister Daniel Friedmann will keep his position, and the framework of the 2009 state budget won’t be expanded.

Instead, Barak will be promoted from deputy prime minister to the new title of “senior deputy prime minister.” He will be involved in the negotiations with Damascus and will be able to prevent issues from being raised in the security cabinet. Labor will be able to prevent the advancement of Friedmann’s judicial reforms and a limited sum will be allocated to two of Labor’s pet causes, raising senior citizens’ benefits and lowering college tuition.

Nevertheless, Barak instructed the members of his coalition-negotiating team to reach a deal with Kadima on Sunday night before he leaves on Monday for a three-day vacation in the Galilee. [...]

Setting aside Livni’s wholly unimpressive coalition feats to date, Barak bests her handily in the pity department. This powerful man, head of the Defence Ministry is a shadow of his former self. Under him, Labor has abandoned much of its platform, seen its seat potential diminish slightly (if that is possible, with Labor already at historical lows in support) while the Kadima party itself has swung left & overtaken all of Labor’s positions displacing the party.

Big Talker

Barak made big noises trying to make it seem like he politically outplayed everyone this past year, forcing Olmert out. In reality he did no such thing and these were mostly his own delusions. Today, Less than 10% of Israel believes he should return to the PM chair, he’s a walking disaster. In the 10 years since he last occupied the post and was unceremoniously booted out for capitulating to nearly every one of the terrorist Arafat’s demands at Camp David II, Barak has become a multi-millionaire. His condo in Tel Aviv is on sale for some 40 Million shekels to add to his vast wealth, in short he has become complacent, fat & weak. A stark contrast to the might commando that is legendary in Israeli annals.

Mr Capitulation

  • On top of the capitulation to Clinton that drove him right from office, Barak has exhibited a number of signs pointing to weakness despite his outward bravado. Rumors swirl that Barak is set on disregarding an existential threat from Iran and is prepared to accept living with the Iranian nuclear weapons program, an opinion that is considered inside the Ministry he helms as a fringe minority one.
  •

  • Rumors also swirl that he was personally opposed to striking the Syrian nuclear reactor program facility last September which was carried out weeks after he assumed the Defense Ministry, meaning the mission, intelligence, planning, and operational requirements were all set well before he even arrived or got clearance. He took great credit for the success, but had almost no hand whatsoever in its accomplishment.
  •

  • In Gaza, despite tough talk for months on end by Barak, with weekly warnings that a huge Israeli invasion was near.. Not a single thing was done to stem the Hamas growing power and rocket arsenals in the terrorist governed territory. In Israeli media and the public it was clear to all Barak sought to negotiate with the Hamas on a cease fire, just like he sought to negotiate with the terrorist Arafat which ended in his own shame & failure, and caused the 2nd Intifada which cost Israel dearly in blood. Even now Barak acknowledges in the lull that Hamas will need to be toppled no matter what the future holds, yet he allows them to steadily smuggle and arm, and train & boobytrap Gaza which wil surely cost even more blood in the future.
  •

  • Israel itself has seen a number of successes of late in covert missions, alas these again are attributed to the Mossad and Meir Dagan. While Barak smiles with yet more bravado over this recent success to claim credit from the secret Mossad, as evidenced by his abysmal numbers no one is impressed.

Curtain Call

Now with news that not a single Barak demand has been realized in negotiations with kadima in the forthcoming coalition, while Barak heads off for yet more vacation time after the summer and endless holidays, I’m left wondering what exactly Barak brings to the table besides coalition spoiler? From deputy prime minister to the new title of “senior deputy prime minister”, this is like something you might see on an SNL skit. It’s a mockery.

It seems clear enough that as things stand Barak will not again be PM of Israel, Labor will not be a major player in any new government coalition beyond a few pitiful saving face measures, and Barak despite ample opportunity has chosen passivity in nearly every major security & critical issue facing the state during his tenure so far..

So the question remains. What is this enriched & fat, clearly weak man doing exactly, and when do we get to see his 2nd resignation as Labor party leader? Don’t get me wrong, I love the guy. I also love my cat Jerry, it doesn’t mean I think he should be the next Prime Minister of Israel.

Well soon see if Livni can laugh at Shas as well next week, and strip them of their own demands & prop up this sad example of corrupt democracy. Don’t hold out for any Barak comment however, he’s on vacation stuffing himself at the expense of the State of Israel.

Defeatist: 92% of Israeli Jews prepared to ‘Engage in Military Battle’

div

National Pride Peaking Despite Surrender Govt & Media

Why is Olmert constantly surrendering to everyone? Surrendering territory, prisoners, concessions, his own seat, Zionist ideals, the list is endless. He’s outdone only by the left leaning Israeli media itself, which gets whipped up into an ecstasy over any form of surrender possible, on any front! Even now we are being led to surrender to Livni’s unelected goals of leadership, surrender to the notion Iran will be a nuclear nation, surrender to all the PA’s goals & enable the weakening of Israel..

Who decided for us?

According to these numbers, whomever has decided is radically off base.

Poll: Israelis remain proud and patriotic (JPOST)

Israelis have continued to display resilience and optimism in defiance of Palestinian terrorism, the Iranian threat, political uncertainty and occasional economic downturns, according to the 2008 Survey of Patriotism among Israeli Jews.

In the survey, published by the Institute for Policy and Strategy at the Herzliya Inter-Disciplinary Center, 92 percent of those questioned said they were proud to be Jewish, while 90% said they considered themselves patriotic.

Eighty-five percent said they opposed dividing Jerusalem in exchange for peace with the Palestinians, while 92% said they would actively engage in a military battle for Israel.

Despite the threats Israel faces, 87% of those polled said they preferred being Israelis than citizens of any other country; 86% said they would prefer living in Israel, even if Iran acquires nuclear weapons.

Eighty-three percent expressed support for the hoisting of the flag on Independence Day, while 90% said they were enraged when people act contemptuously during the nationwide siren on Remembrance Day for the Fallen of Israel’s Wars. [...]

When do we get to vote? I am part of the 90+ percent. I am not demoralized by the many threats & challenges to Israel, I’m demoralized by the pseudo democracy we are being served here and the Olmert Livni Barak trio of capitulation. Olmert is a broken man? That’s his problem. Take Barak & Livni with you and stop surrendering this country to everyone who lines up.
