Olmert attended the meeting in order to brief the committee members on the Iranian issue, as well as on the situation on the northern front and on the negotiations on the core issues with the Palestinians.
The Iranian issue was raised during US President George W. Bush’s visit to Israel last week. “Despite what has been said in the US National Intelligence Estimate, Iran was a danger and continues to be a danger. The kick back and & let others drive this policy days are over.. Having cast his lot in that rickety effort, Olmert seems still stuck in pre National Intel Estimate mentality to Israel’s danger, these bold statements notwithstanding. The USA train has left the station. We need to shift gears, as 2008 is go time for efforts. Be they diplomatic efforts, military or otherwise, they’re are all running of time and steam. Too many words, not enough action.
