The Palestinians, they need billions in aid & the EU is more than glad to comply. This humanitarian effort is most appreciated, though Israelis in general might be more appreciative if the Humanitarian aid trucks weren’t packed with EU packaged sugar actually containing tons of explosives destined for Hamas & Fatah terrorists.

The IDF has intercepted 6.5 tons of humanitarian aid marked as ‘EU sugar’ which actually contains Potassium Nitrate (YNET) - the stuff used to make massive truck bombs like the ones used to attack the World Trade Center in the 90’s, and which brought down the federal building in Oklahoma.

The great peace drive and the international enablers who make it happen - the more murdered Jews the better I guess, I’m waiting for the massive international aid inquiry, the firings & charges against the EU aid workers who are smuggling weapons to terrorists, and the international condemnation..

I’ll no doubt be waiting a VERY long time as the EU response was ‘no comment.’

While visiting here in America during the unfortunate Pakistani assassination by Jihadists, I got an opportunity to eat some not available by me in Tel-Aviv MSNBC, specifically I watched Hardball and reaction to the killing. After watching Chris Mathews and his panel roundtable the events and candidate reactions I’m left more fearful of Barack Obama than ever..

‘We’re gonna change the World’

Take a look at that tag line above, I heard it as part of one of Obama’s campaign jingles and what scares me is that it is the exact same sentiment shared by the Jihadists, they also want to change the world! They do it by blowing themselves up & taking anyone unfortunate enough to be standing nearby with them. If Obama, or Edwards were to win the Democratic primaries the explosion would leave plenty of carnage in their wake imho.

Americans can do as they please, and domestic issues are an in-house American thing I have no business commenting on, but as the world power the thought of having a neophyte like Obama, or a cheer-leading flopper like Edwards steering planetary foreign policy is almost as scary to me as handing the keys over to the Jihadists themselves.

Tough talk

Say what you will about Musharraf & democracy, and Obama / Edwards both have plenty to say, but their inability to grasp the intricacies of foreigh policies are glaring. Bhutto is gone, Musharraf is the lone horse in the race now and it’s time to shore up support.

Instead the dems save Hillary are swiping at the Pakistani leader. Someone needs to school them to the realities that every single large fish take down of al-qaeda during the last 5 years was as a direct result of Pakistani intelligence cooperation with the United States. None of the big headline grabbing catches have been as a result of US action alone, in fact most have been Pakistani tags handed over to the US afterwards. Without Musharraf’s very dangerous to him personally assistance; the US would have been spinning its wheels until now going nowhere fast.

Lip Service

Why does it matter? Because the US is seen around the world these days as a fickle ally - When the going gets tough the Americanos led by popular opinion and the US Dept. of State do indeed get going.. Seemingly in the other direction. The Dems, Biden included seem to be playing out this same scenario calling now for reviews of Pakistani foreign aid, calling for removal of Musharraf, it’s foolishness with a capital F. 

Pakistan has entered no go zones in waziristan, perhaps not as gung-ho as Barack Obama would like with his tough talk (all talk being the key word), but entered they have nonetheless. Musharraf may not be as appealing to local bleeding hearts as the female corruption laced poster girl Bhutto was, but he’s better than a mad Muslim armed with nuclear weapons supporting Jihad any way you roll those dice. He’s risked plenty for American goals, he’s cooperated better than any had ever hoped. Only a fool would choose to make internal American political hay at his expense at this dangerous juncture. Leaders playing to their base at the expense of American long term goals & policies are leaders best left by the wayside from my perspective.

Take a good look

Watching the leading Democratic candidates handle a major international incident with large foreign policy ramifications is a telling event, while here in the US I’ve gotten rinkside seats and so far all I’ve seen from the Dems is a bunch of welterweights. Things are heating up around the region (Mideast), now’s not the time for big statements and world changing BS - Now’s the time to double down buckle up and prepare for the next round.

If Obama or Edwards are large in charge it’ll be bloody alright.. But it will be American blood being spilt by an emboldened Jihad slapping America silly left, right, & center.

I couldn’t resist this. Watching Fox News Sunday, Jane Harman who I happen to respect immensely.. In reference to the CIA tapes, was asked what her opinion was of the notion that the CIA didn’t archive video tapes of terror interrogations in order to protect the interrogators - She responded with this absolute classic..

She doesn’t buy it, straight up, no sarcasm… “We all know the CIA is very good at keeping secrets”

Come now Jane, I think we all really know how effective the CIA is at keeping secrets, can I have some cheese with that whopper!? lol. She chased it by stating the NIE was some of the finest intelligence work around..

State Department probably prefers they stayed at home because if we’ve come, it means war.

The recent NIE heard round the world contains terms like high confidence, but the reaction from the USA’s closest allies can be more easily summed up with the term low confidence. Israel, the UK, France, Germany all have expressed confusion and a fair dose of shock at the wild summaries and loaded manner of the publicly presented portions of the NIE. Experts around the world have grunted in agreement, and even the American public has cast a disbelieving eye, with only 18% of Americans polled actually putting much credence in their latest spy report. It’s not so much the intel itself, but the analysis and loaded manner in which it is presented which has a frankly glaring political tilt.

Game Theory

Theories as to how this has come about have ranged from tying Bush’s hands with rope supplied by what has been an extremely partisan & hostile CIA, one which appears to have been conducting a fair bit of operations against its own administration these past few years through leaks & assorted treachery. Other theories involve an American intel apparatus paralyzed by indecision and doubt over its high profile failures in Iraq and 9/11 previously, and now gun shy to make the tough calls. And the final theory involves an America that has lost its gusto and is looking to deal at our expense.

Some of the reasoning behind all this is the fact that the intel hasn’t changed all that much from the previous NIE in 2005, yet pieces of new intel have swung assessments in a full 180 degree arc. The resulting summaries and framing are shockingly political, with important nuggets buried in footnotes explaining terms used liberally in the document which seem custom made to lead & confuse the casual reader to the golden ticket that Iran is Mr. Clean, while the document clearly states that is not the case by any stretch of the imagination.

Media Games 

Of course all of this is compounded by the even more politically charged media, orgasmic over the chance to grill their own President yet again. The NIE seems custom written for them, allowing them to pick and choose a path through the intel & present even further removed from the data summations declaring Iran Mother Theresa. I’m reminded of hearing David Gregory’s NBC voice sneering in his usual liberal manner about Bush leading America to WWIII and practically accusing the President of lying behind his intel at recent press briefings, to say nothing of the moron Olberman and his made for moonbat TV ‘exposes’ where he basically elevates treason to a camera cutting art of ridiculousness, complete with fabricated rage and infused with calling his President a liar repeatedly per segment on national TV.

What the hell is going on in America!?

Here in Israel we know that when ESPN sportscasters start feeling comfortable faux determining national policy based on their acting skills in desperate made for TV ratings grabs, while Iran builds missiles and spins centrifuges marked ‘for Tel-aviv’ on them it’s time to act. Last week there was blurb about it in Haaretz, and now YNET has some details as well. But the general gist is that our intel & boys have flown to the great USA to present the Mossad’s reading of events in Iran. It would appear we are making one last effort to wake the USA up before we ditch the current form of our own government & implement either elections or a walking talking national security platform emergency government - In order to prepare for war in 2009.

Our own National Security Assessment is that the US has abandoned Israel to tackle Iran alone. (YNET)

The aforementioned pessimism concerns Iran’s nuclear ambitions. The American National Intelligence Estimate “dropped quite a bomb” on Israel’s struggle against Iran’s nuclear program, said officials within Israel’s defense establishment. The US report only diminishes the likelihood that the international community will impose harsh, effective sanctions on Iran and also that the US itself will strike Iranian nuclear facilities.

“It is clear to us now that no one will do the work for us,” one of the report’s authors told Ynet, Israel can now rely solely on its own military capabilities, if and when the Iranian nuclear program achieves its aims. [...]

That pretty much sums it up. The levers of power may have been pulled in America to prevent military conflict with Iran, but the reverse effect has resulted. Now instead of an international concerted effort to prevent it, thanks to partisan games that has unraveled totally & now America will be going to war whether it likes it or not.

Once we initiate and we will having been forced into the corner, take that to the bank - America will have little choice because the only thing the Jihad likes as much as Jewish blood, is American blood. I pray for safety in the US that Barack Obama is not your next President, because if he is, his weakness and total inexperience will make the errors in Iraq look like training exercises imho. Sarkozy warned about it this week, Iran is no longer the wild card.. We in Israel are.

It is about to get played.

FNC Update - Fox News mentioned the split in Israel, with Olmert chastising our Security Minister Avi Dichter over his comments about military conflict, but frankly at a certain point this all becomes redundant. Olmert hanging on won’t change the reality that most security & military officials, and now many cabinet members have all resigned themselves to the reality that Israel needs to get in gear & pronto.

Michelle Malkin has the goods on the latest Jihad tape released,

it references Annapolis, Abbas and a call for Jihad to ultimately liberate Jerusalem and establish the worldwide caliphate.

Israel’s latest intelligence suggests Al Qaeda is active all around Israel, exploiting Jordan & Egypt primarily as footholds, but that the terror group has not firmly established itself in the Gaza strip as of yet. This seems to be a rallying call to Islamic Jihad, Hamas & assorted scum to get more active. Indeed today Hamas announced it would be stepping up with even more attacks against Israel.

All I can is these guys must have serious cohones. Israel is at the brink, being asked to concede more & more for peace. It is 10000% assured that Israel will act very very forcefully no matter how the process unfolds in order to buttress the message that it prioritizes security above all else, even if negotiations are ongoing.

When Israel is divided for peace & pursuing it, it is without question the most dangerous time to trifle with it, as we tend to react with total fury. Anything else spells the end of our government’s ability to proceed. This is the Mid East, we don’t trifle around like our friends the brits & the yankees - We’ll find these people & kill them in their beds if they play on our court. Then we’ll find where their families live & blow up their houses, honestly.. We could care less what Amnesty says about it - these terrorists don’t hide the fact they seek our total destruction.

Left Out in The Cold

It shouldn’t be this way, the big guy, El Presidente! The guy who’s deeds Jewish conservatives could finally point to and say ‘you see what we’re talking about? There’s love on this side of the aisle..” Yeah, that guy. The Joe who looked into the camera tilted his head snorted & said ‘Well, we’re gonna smoke ‘em out of their holes’ and vowed on a dank New York morning into the megaphone heard round the world, that pretty soon ‘everybody would be listening’. 

I’m talking about this guy..

There’s few stadiums in the world where this rock star could ever get a warmer reception than right here in Israel. Gallup polled recently & found that regarding foreign leaders internationally, Bush scored highest in Israel - with a 66% support rate. After 7 years, he’s on his way. Trouble is, under his direction his State Department has been making a heck of a mess around here, and if a cheerleader like me is feeling sombre, it leaves me saddened to think that after all we’ve been through it shouldn’t be like this.

Gaza gone wrong

We had to convince Bush to get on board with giving back Gaza, he was opposed but in the end felt it might be a big step towards peace. So he sent Condi Rice to try and lay some ground to smoothen that process’ arrival. That’s when the trouble started.

Instead of ushering peace, we got an ushering in of American policy somehow deluded (READ STATE DEPT.) in the belief that Hamas, the terrorist organization should be allowed on the ballot despite the fact they were still an armed terrorist group. Condi rolled her dice smug in the warmth of her democracy strategy, problem is she woke up to a Hamas elected terrorist group majority. Olmert one month in office began his own march of weakness incidentally, it was the start of our total subservience to the frankly incompetent US State Department.

Mistakes happen, so you correct them. Bush doctrine should have been applied, but it was not. Instead Condi scratched Europe’s back and Israel’s face by insisting that Rafah - The Egyptian / Gaza crossing be under Palestinian control with EU monitors. Of course we objected, pleaded. We knew the PA was not willing or able to control normalcy and the result was Hamastan. The EU Monitors never controlled the entry of weapons, they were the 1st to flee in fact when enough weapons had been amassed allowing Hamas to flip a full military coup in lieu of security in the territories.

We’ve had our soldiers kidnapped, our citizens bombarded, our faith in big steps shaken to the core. In the end, Rice’s State Department looms larger than ever by tying our hands. Worse, her mentors are advising Rice she should pressure us into negotiating with the terrorists. That guy, is that his intention - to tie our hands from defending ourselves?

Push for Peace

I was aghast in 2002 when on the White House lawn I heard the big guy call for a Palestinian State. Not that I have a problem with a Palestinian state, more like the most powerful man calling for one gratis. He rarely disappointed back then though, so the next sentence was about ‘certain new facts on the ground’. Man to man he assured Sharon that settlements were a reality that would have to be dealt with, & more importantly reality dictated they be dealt with by leaving them exactly where they were. Mr Big, practical, driven by realities & convictions.

But then the US State Department buttressed by old farts like Jim Baker, and Hamilton screamed bloody murder that if only you sacrificed Israel up on the altar, all the world would fall into place. Iraq, the Middle East, the Saudis, even the tooth fairy would once again give small children large fortunes while they slept! Just get rid of those damned Joooz!

Rice rice rice, having zero and I repeat zero middle east experience herself, embraced this madness and convinced the big guy to do so as well. Now we find ourselves negotiating with terrorists, the US flirting with Iran, and Pelosi getting foot massages in Syria. We find Israel’s government like dopey, going along with the US in lock step despite the fact that each & every policy rolled out further endangers our national security. Is this what that guy wanted? A sacrifice of Israel.. Like Abraham & Isaac, only this time all of us lacking faith Rice will stay the executioners hand like the angel of Gd did?

Lebanon, the Paris Hilton of the Middle East

It’s hard to find a more useless country in the Rice plan currently than Lebanon. A more fertile, pliable and western zone to plough her democracy theory she will never find. Yet, despite a war, UN harmony, and even the slapping around of Israel internationally Hezbollah still calls the shots. The US sponsored regime is on life support, and the militants supported by Iran & Syria have knocked off yet ANOTHER pion of Lebanese democracy in the last two days.

Did we smash our enemies lobbing rockets on our population? Did we kill Hassan Nasrallah for attacking our country? Did we seize the opportunity to defang a significant portion of the terrorist threat Bush, the big guy has been talking about for 8 years now? Nope. We looked to Rice, and the State Department. We banked on her close multilateral relationships with the French (the whores of the middle east, if a tail goes up in the Levant, you can rest assured the French will be right there to take a sniff.) and you know what we got for our troubles? The Clap. Is that what that guy wanted? Israel humbled on the battlefield, and neutered in the UN?
I don’t believe it.

Iran - The Jihad itself armed with Nuclear Weapons

This time the threat is not only to Israel, but our entire way of life comprising Tel-Aviv through London to Washington all the way to pretty San Diego. This time it’s all those scary speeches rolled into one, this time it’s not two buildings coming down but entire cities & populations at risk from terror. The entire balance of power this century is in theory on the table here. Of all times, of all situations this is the LAST ONE of all where we would ever expect America to slide us a 3 of spades instead of the ace in the deck!? What the HELL?

We, known worldwide as willing to act to defend ourselves deferred. We put all of our eggs in the American Easter basket. How could America relent on this, after all Iran is the very antithesis of America. Safe bet, because if Israel goes we figured America goes with it and surely this empire of greatness cannot possibly be so stupid as to deal with the devil. But, it required yet again putting our faith in Rice and the State Department. Sanctions, coalitions, the white marbled gleaming UN we were told would finally after 60 years do one damn thing right. But lo and behold the price keeps getting steeper, while the Iranian program gets deeper, and now the entire thing seems for naught. Bush assures us, Rice jets around, but we all know what’s coming. Grand Bargain, and leave your AMEX at home because ‘they only take the ISRACARD’ for payment where Rice is shopping.

Iran, unless we stop it ourselves now in the 4th quarter no less - will be a nuclear power and the fate of Israel will forever be altered. Is that what the big guy wanted? To be the President of the United States under a rising nuclear powered Islamic Jihad for generations to come?
I don’t believe it.

All Smiles

When he arrives we will smile, we will feel glad. The same gladness you feel when an old friend is seen after years apart. But deep down it will be hard to cover up the fact that right now the NIE may be talking in terms of high-confidence, but here in Israel our confidence in our stalwart ally is dropping faster than a stone. If you come George, do us all a favor and leave Dr. Rice at home.

The first Iranian President ever to be bestowed the honor. Egypt has opened relations for the 1st time since Saddat was assinated by Islamic Extremists.
