Apart from the usual public hangings, religious police, beatings and general jolliness routinely associated with the Iranian benevolent regime, the ‘peaceful’ nuclear issue is dominating my thoughts of late. Superhero extraordinaire - Chief IAEA has been particularly effective this week and deserves some praise!
Let’s take a look a some of the nuggets of goodness courtesy of:
UN atomic chief calls for pause in Iran sanctions (Bloomberg)
Sept. 10 (Bloomberg) — United Nations atomic agency chief Mohamed ElBaradei called on the Security Council to take a “timeout” from sanctions and for Iran to pause its uranium enrichment to avert a crisis over the country’s nuclear program. [...]
Yes, the ever effective put you in the corner ‘Time-Out’. Unfortunately addressing the Nuclear threat Iran now poses to the planet as you might address a 3 year old may not exactly be ‘solid strategy’, but this is just a hunch. Ten bucks says they end up throwing a tantrum and urinating on something.. Kind of like Super Chief himself I gather from reading below.
UN nuclear chief walks out on EU speech on Iran: diplomats (AFP)
VIENNA – UN nuclear chief Mohamed ElBaradei walked out on an afternoon session Tuesday of his IAEA to protest an EU speech which did not fully support his deal for new inspections in Iran, diplomats told AFP. “He walked out because the EU did not support the Secretariat,” a diplomat who was at the meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s 35-nation board of governors said. [...]
No soup for you! I particularly enjoy the Stalinesque manner in which Super Chief is running IAEA Iranian policy lately, it’s ‘Mohamed’s way or the highway’, or in this case I gather the hallway.. Not that it matters much because the Super Chief’s appeasement strategy of late is so effective it’s not even being welcomed by the Mullahs themselves!
Iran rejects ElBaradei’s “time-out” plan (IRNA)
Iran Focus / Tehran, Iran, Sep. 11 – Iran rejected on Tuesday a proposal by United Nations nuclear watchdog chief Mohamed ElBaradei calling on it to halt uranium enrichment activities in return for a suspension of Security Council sanctions.
“We do not accept the ‘time-out’ suggested by the director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Mohamed ElBaradei”, said Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki. His remarks were reported by the official news agency IRNA. Mottaki said that every one of Iran’s population of 70 million was the “equivalent of an atomic bomb”. “Iran’s nuclear program is not a showcase. We want to create [nuclear] fuel for peaceful purposes”, he said. Mottaki will travel to Moscow in the coming hours.
Well, there you have it, another week of fine fine work on the Iran file by the IAEA & Super Chief.
- Stall & dodge, stall & dodge, deke..
- Followed by sanction ‘Time Out’..
- Followed by rejection..
- Add temper tantrum..
- Allow two months ‘dry time’..
- Then repeat cycle & rinse.
You too can have a nuclear bomb in no time! Somebody wake me when the B2 Bombers are in the air.
