Elections 2006 | For the good of the Soviet State
The left is as usual lacking much in substance, employing the Hot Air tactic.
I’ve been trying to get a handle on the dizzying coalition brow beating going on in Israel, here are some observations.
Hot Air – The Social Block
Yesterday’s big talk was of a "Social Bloc". Apparently Shas, Labor, Meretz & the pensioners were well into forming an alliance to strengthen their position towards Kadima and secure social issues in a coalition. This was floated by Labor senior party members.
Reality – There is no Social Block
Digging a bit deeper I’m seeing this is fabricated nonsense.

USA Bans all contacts with Hamas Terrorist Government
"No Soup For You!"
Following up on the Canada post, here’s Lady Liberty making us proud.

US bans contacts with Hamas-led governmentJERUSALEM (Reuters) – The United States has ordered its diplomats and contractors not to have any contacts with Palestinian ministries once a Hamas-led government is sworn in on Wednesday, U.S. officials said.
The directive, distributed to U.S. officials in the region by email, bars them from having contacts with Hamas-appointed government ministers, whether they are members of Hamas or not, as well as with those who work for them, U.S. officials said.
Iran clamps down hard on bloggers..
My favorite sailor, the skipper has this gem up today..
Iran Hard-Line Regime Cracks Down on Blogs
Mar 29, 4:19 AM (ET)DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) – On his last visit to Iran, Canadian-based blogger Hossein Derakhshan was detained and interrogated, then forced to sign a letter of apology for his blog writings before being allowed to leave the country. Compared to others, Derakhshan is lucky. Dozens of Iranian bloggers have faced harassment by the government, been arrested for voicing opposing views, and fled the country in fear of prosecution over the past two years.
Check the full deal over at barking moonbat. Seems you aren’t even allowed to blog about Iran from Canada. Which means considering the stuff I write about that regime made up of backwards morons I’ll likely be beheaded shortly, oh well. It’s been nice knowing you, I hope they let me scoff down a Quarter Pounder or two before they slice my head off, do they have SuperSizes in Tehran!? I usually like the big carton of fries before my execution..
I’d apologize like my Canadian Iranian buddy up there, but seeing as I’m not only a Jew, but a Zionist Jew I doubt the Caliphate will show me much in the way of leniency. I’ll have to convert to Islam like Cat Stevens & John Kerry.
Canada terminates PA Aid: Hamas Terrorist Govt sworn in officially
Canada’s new conservative Govt. draws a line in the sand, aid to the new Hamas Palestinian Authority has been cut.
My country finally emerges from decades of socialist slumber, becomes the first nation besides Israel to declare officially that we will not tolerate a Terrorist Government in the Territories. Of course, the US stance is equally clear on this matter, I’m expecting the US announcement will follow shortly..

TORONTO – Canada said Wednesday it was suspending assistance to the Palestinian Authority because the new Hamas-led government refuses to renounce violence and recognize Israel. It was the first government besides Israel to cut off financial assistance to the Palestinian Authority since Hamas won the legislative elections in January, and other nations were expected to follow suit.
Hamas formally took power Wednesday, with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas swearing in its 24-member Cabinet.
Hamas and new Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh insist they won’t soften the militant group’s violent ideology or formally recognize its longtime nemesis.
Foreign Affairs Minister Peter MacKay said in a statement that Canada had no choice but to suspend assistance and decline any contact with the new Hamas Cabinet.
"The stated platform of this government has not addressed the concerns raised by Canada and others concerning nonviolence, the recognition of Israel, and acceptance of previous agreements and obligations, including the roadmap for peace," MacKay said. "As a result, Canada will have no contact with the members of the Hamas Cabinet and is suspending assistance to the Palestinian Authority."
There’s no Peace without a clear victor in the War
Daniel Pipes finally says what is obvious to any Historian. In order to secure the Peace, you need to first secure the Victory. If not, there’s no reason to make Peace in the first place.
Elections 2006 | Who tossed the Fragmentation Grenade?
Election disaster
(Updated the 31st with the tighter / final seat numbers)
I got a few hours sleep last night, but I was beyond restless. Truth is I’m fretting and I know many Israeli and Jewish bloggers are in the same boat for varying reasons. The cause of my concern is the Israeli electorate and the shambles they have put together, no doubt much in part to the self serving animals known as Israeli politicians. The right failed the right, the left failed the left and the center failed the center. The result is the most fragmented mess of nothingness one could ever imagine, where everyone loses.
Who won? Nobody won, least of all Israel.
